Unique Groups on Facebook is Not Unique

There was s a funny thing catching my eyes on Facebook this morning. I saw another group had a name exactly with one I've created. I didn't believe that, then I tried to create another group again, of course with an exact name, and yes, it worked.

Groups on Facebook behaves as a name and it's not unique. Instead, each groups has an unique ID to differ them from the other groups. I do concern about this because I found a different behavior on another social networking site, both the group name and the group id are unique identifier.

Why you need to know about this?

I think many Facebook users will easily join a group without really participating on it. But duplicated Groups will confuse them and could lead them to the wrong places. If you're a business owner, then you have to concern about this, although Facebook has a policy of creating inappropriate Groups or Pages, but you still have a consideration to choose what's the best for your business.
